Skilling Centre
Bukenya Sulaiman Foundation One-Stop Centre
A Place to Learn. A Place to Grow. A Place for Everyone.
Welcome to the Bukenya Sulaiman Foundation One-Stop Centre – a community hub where skills, technology, and knowledge meet under one roof.
Please Note: This is not our administrative office. This is our Community Service Centre, open to the public and completely free.
We built this centre with one simple idea: A young person should be able to learn a practical skill, access a computer, and read a book in the same place, on the same day, without paying a fee.
WHAT YOU WILL FIND AT THE CENTRE
The Centre houses three life-changing community projects in one location:
1. Bukenya Sulaiman Skilling Centre
We believe in learning by doing. Our skilling centre provides practical, hands-on training to help youth and women get jobs or start their own businesses.
Courses Include:
– Tailoring and Fashion Design
– Hairdressing and Cosmetology
– Catering, Bakery and Cookery
– Electrical Installation and Solar
– Welding, Carpentry and Fabrication
– Making Liquid Soap, Bar Soap and Disinfectants
All trainees receive mentorship in entrepreneurship, saving, and business startup. A certificate is awarded at the end of training.
2. Bukenya Sulaiman Free Access Computer Centre
In today’s world, no computer skills means no opportunity. Our computer centre closes the digital gap.
What is Free Here:
– Basic and Intermediate Computer Training
– Free Internet Access for Students and Job Seekers
– Assistance with CV Writing, Email Creation and Online Job Applications
– Support with URA, National ID and Passport Applications
– Introduction to Coding, Graphic Design and Digital Marketing
3. Bukenya Sulaiman Foundation Public Library
A quiet, safe and inspiring space for learners of all ages.
Our Library Offers:
– A quiet reading and revision space for primary, secondary and university students
– Textbooks, past papers and reference materials
– Storybooks and reading programs for children every Saturday
– Entrepreneurship, farming and health books for adults
– Daily newspapers and career guidance information
WHO IS IT FOR?
The Centre is open to everyone – youth, women, students, farmers, and job seekers. No discrimination. No membership fee. If you have the willingness to learn, you have a place here.
